Rajasthan HC Upholds Validity Of Interchangeability Of Reservation Vacancies Between Widows And Divorcee Women In Case Of Non-Availability Of Candidates In Either Category

The Rajasthan High Court has upheld the constitutional validity of a Notification issued by the Government of Rajasthan substituting a rule pertaining to reservation of vacancies for women in its Service Rules to allow interchangeability between divorcee and widow candidates vacancies on the quota of seats reserved for these category in case of non-availability of sufficient candidates in either of the two categories. The matter was referred to the larger bench of the Court on a reference made by the Division Bench for determination of the constitutional validity of the Notification dated 22.12.2015.
